Bangor Daily News – October 30, 1970

Writes that Bald Mountain has spent $140,000 to have the Linde snowmaking system installed to provide manmade snow the “Linde guns are reported to work especially well in warm temperatures and high humidity which prevail at Bald Mountain”, “The new snowmaking equipment at Bald will serve all of the trails and slopes which are now lighted”. 

Advertisement, Bangor Daily Newspaper – October 30, 1970

The advertisement lists that Bald Mountain featured 12 trails, 2,200 ft chairlift, 950 ft T- bar, snack bar, rentals, base lodge, summit lodge, snow making, night skiing, ski school, touring trail, and that it had special rates for all students and groups. It also states that Bald featured trails ranging from scenic novice runs to expert narrow twisting challenging runs. The old phone number to call at the bottom of advertisement is 207-843-6256.

Bangor Daily News – October 3, 1974 by, Dennis Mills

Writes that the Snow Bowl in Camden was going to obtain “$100,000 worth of equipment”  “from the now defunct Bald Mountain Ski Area”. The equipment the Snow Bowl is going to receive is the 1,900 foot chairlift, 1,000 foot T-bar, snowmaking machinery, and lights. All of this equipment “was donated to the Snow Bowl last summer by Arthur K. Watson shortly before he died.
